The Gate Food Co-Operative is for families in the City Road / Albany Road area of Cardiff struggling financially to buy essential food for themselves and their children. It was setup in 2021 in response to the high demand in our local area for access to affordable food. Members of the co-op can come weekly on a Tuesday afternoon, paying £4 for a shop. Items vary weekly but contain a variety of cupboard ingredients including fresh fruit and vegetables, cereals, rice, pasta tinned goods and dairy produce.

Whilst our food co-op runs, we open up our cafe bar area to host families and their little ones.
